Der Leiter des ungarischen Fan Clubs, Tibor Toth, plant heuer den „Freddie Mercury´s Montreux Memorial Day“ mit dem Fahrrad zu besuchen. Der Trip mit dem Fahrrad von Ungarn bis nach Montreux ist für Tibor eine Art Pilgerfahrt zu der Freddie Statue.

Tibor vom ungarischen Queen Fan Club hat mich gebeten, folgende Informationen zu veröffentlichen.

I’d like to let you know that we also will organise some Queen related programmes. Some of them in preparation, but theres a travel to Montreux what I’d like to inform you about. My music band, the Queen Unplugged Project will participate at the Freddie Mercury’s Montreux Memorial Day, and the Hungarian Queen Fan Club organise a bustrip to this event. As we travel thru Austria (and Germany), it’s gonna be easy for Austrian fans to join us for this trip. I’d like to ask you to help us to inform the Austrian fans about this travel.

There will be two more events, wich ones might be interesting for international fans.
Our annual Queen Fan Camp will be from 3rd till 10th July in Balatonszemes. This is a FREE EVENT with live concerts, exhibitions, competitions, games, etc.

On 27th July we’d like to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Queen gig at Népstadion, Budapest.
The planned programme of the QUEEN MAGIC DAY:
- boat trip with VÖCSÖK II. what Queen used to travel from Vienna to Budapest in 86,
- visit the hotel room, that Freddie used in 86, (Tavaszi Szél performance on the terrace),
- party (afternoon) inside of the Népstadion (exhibition, live performance),
- party (night) near to the Népstadion (live show).

And regarding this anniversary we’d like to release a memory book about the Queen visit. So, if you have any material (pictures, memories) regarding this, please let me know.

MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS

Travel: by airconditioned tourist bus with the capacity of 49 seats (toilet, tv, freezer, boiler, coffe machine, etc.).

Accomodation: Montreux Territet Youth Hostel (ten minutes’ walk to the centre), 4-8 bedded dormitories (bunk beds, shared showers and toilets). Breakfast and bed linen included!

Freddie Mercury’s Montreux Memorial Day:
One of the biggest Queen related event in the world! Since 2003 more and more fans attend it each year. Most of the programmes are FREE OF CHARGE. Open air concerts by cover bands and Queen music in different aspects on the pontoon and under the market place, around Freddie's statue. Boat trips to the Lake House. At this year there will be a few artists showing their QUEEN paintings or sculptures in an art gallery nearby.

About the fee.
Departure from Budapest, Hungary 190 EUR
Departure from Vienna, Austria 170 EUR
Departure from Munich, Germany 150 EUR
The price includes travel and accomodation for 2 nights with breakfast!

Fill in the application form (available on our website), send it to the Hungarian Queen Fan Club (see addresses below). Also send the fee to HQFC’s bank account. HQFC will send you a confirmation.
