Williams To Take Freddie’s Place In Queen
Auch wenn es ein Gerücht ist, hier gibt es einmal die original Meldung des Mirrors vom 13.12.:

Williams To Take Freddie’s Place In Queen
Robbie Williams is to stun his millions of fans ba replacing Freddie Mercury as Queen’s frontman.
The Entertainer will transform himself from pop heart-throb into a rock god. It will be no mean feat as we believe Freddie, who died of an Aids-related illness in 1991, was one of the greatest showmen ever.
When Robbie recently revealed it was his ultimate ambition to work with the band, Queen guitarist Brian May an drummer Roger Taylor were immediately convinced he was the man for the job.
And they’ve now persuaded Robbie, 26, to perform in a series of stadium concerts with them in the New Year.
Robbie, who could make his Queen debut at Brazil’s Rock in Rio concert in January, will sing old material plus new stuff the surviving members of the band have penned, and the collaboration will eventually result in an album.
They will also release a Queen hit, possibly Bohemian Rhapsody, as a single.
FANS
There’s no doubt that Robbie would add some much-needed street-cred to the band after their cringe-making version of We Will Rock You with pop munchkins Five.
This will mean Robbies’s third stage persona, having transformed himself from fresh-faced boy-band member of Take That to solo artist and now to front man of a rock group.
Signing up Robbie certainly puts paid to the ludicrous speculation that George Michael was in the frame for the job.
We’re not sure how the news will go down with die-hard Queen fans, considering the band’s first UK hit with Seaven Seas Of Rhye was in 1974 - the year Robbie was born.
But whatever you do, Robbie - don’t even think of growing a moustache. folgende Bilder mit dazugehörigen Bildunterschriften standen dabei.
