OFFICIAL: NO San Remo for Queen
Official announcement from the Italian Queen Fan Club: Queen will NOT appear at the San Remo festival next month.
Despite all the schedule-juggling efforts, it eventually proved NOT possible to make a live performance happen at such short notice (miming was out of the question right from the start).
Reasons given: contacts were only taken earlier this month, with BHM and RMT already busy preparing the WWRY touring production, Spike due to spend a few weeks in the USA, Paul to attend business in Canada for some time, and several tech crew key members on well-deserved leave.
Teilnehmende Künstler beim San Remo Festival 2009:
Afterhours, Zucchero, Youssou N'Dour, Burt Bacharach, Lucio Dalla, Alexia, Pino Daniele, Marco Masini, Roberto Vecchioni, Gino Paoli, Patty Pravo, Gemelli Diversi, Riccardo Cocciante, Francesco Renga, Pupo, Dolcenera, Tricarico, Massimo Ranieri, Povia, Stefano di Battista, Fausto Leali, Iskra, Iva Zanicchi, Paolo Belli, Malika Ayane, Marco Carta, Nicky Nicolai, albano, Irene Fornaciari, Arisa, Sal Da Vinci, Dodi Battaglia, Mario Lavezzi, Karima, Maurizio Vandelli, Silvia Aprile, Chiara Canzian, Paolo Bonolis, Fio Zanotti, Filippo Perbellini, Barbara Gilbo und Simona Molinari

Wenn dieser Promo Clip mit Brian May aktuell ist, dann wird es wohl doch eine US Tour geben!

Queen-Relevante Auszüge aus einem aktuellen Paul Rodgers Interview mit dem „Goldmine Magazine“:
On working with Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Rodgers says, “They are fabulous musicians. That little spark has taken us around the world twice and into doing a brand new album. Doing a new album is something that Queen have not attempted since Freddie [Mercury] passed. I think that, in itself, is a fantastic achievement. I am really proud of what we did together.”
With the tour now complete and the album in stores, the future for Queen + Paul Rodgers remains a mystery.
“The door is open, as far as I am concerned,” says Rodgers. “If the guys called and had a benefit or charity concert that they were doing, I would be up for that. Playing twice for Nelson Mandela was an enormous honor; he is one of our very few living icons of peace. He is a truly an amazing human being.”
Rodgers reveals, “I don’t know if I want to undertake any more massive four-month tours, although I still love playing shows. Right now, I am home, and I am resting and just waiting to see what my next move will be. I am always going to be active, as music is in my blood.”
The Future
Queen + Paul Rodgers may — or may not — tour again. However, plans are to release a DVD of the band’s 2008 gig in Kiev.

Aktuelles Interview mit Eric Singer (KISS Drummer, Drummer bei der „Another World Tour“ sowie Drummer FM Tribute 2001 und WWRY World Premiere Aftershow Party):
Eric Singer über QPR_
"I have heard that the collaboration between Queen and Paul Rodgers has come to a definite end. I know the rumour has been around for a while, but I recently heard they finally made the decision to finally call it quits"
Eric Singer über „The Cosmos Rocks“
"A part of it I really like, another part sounds very unnatural to me. You do hear that some songs weren’t written with Paul in mind, but would be perfect for Freddie, whilst those that do fit his voice better don’t sound like typical Queen. If he would have recorded them with Bad Company, it would have fitted. Now it just doesn’t. I have seen them live a couple of times and Paul Rodgers is without a doubt one of the greatest rock singers of all time, and Brian May is also one of the greatest guitar players of all times, but Queen simply was Queen, and it was unique. I’m not saying they need to stop playing, but it would be better if misters May and Taylor look for a singer that is more fitted to their music.’ " )

I’m not saying they need to stop playing, but it would be better if misters May and Taylor look for a singer that is more fitted to their music.’ " )

And there´s nothing you can do about it!

Anyway...it is like it is!

da stimm ich auch mal zu. All that crap again???? (Freddie Mercury)
