There is a Satory Saal in Cologne, but I dont know what happened there. Sporthalle is definately not the same place, I am relative sure that Sporthalle is not a place in Cologne.

Hope this helps

Indeed, it's hard to believe Queen played in "Singen" (Queenconcerts).

Thank you for your answers, but I still have a doubt like I said on Queenonline forum.

They think the right venue is Sporthalle, like you ogre.t.raylor (what a difficult name to write :?), but your idea about the popularity of the group is good Tim June, and it's hard to make a choice :/

Singen: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singen_%28Hohentwiel%29
or Siegen: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siegen ?

According to Greg Brooks Queen played in Siegen - and he seems to be right in this case.

Singen

I remember that I found an concert documentry in a old BRAVO, the famous German Youth magazine in my early Queen days. There was a schedule and I remember the concert in Singen. As I did not know the town Singen I was wondering why BRAVO was mentioning the fact that they were singing on this day... Sorry, I was so young...

Maybe they played Siegen as well, but Singen seems to be right if the BRAVO was not informed wrong as well...

When I am back home after my trip I will have a look in the old files...

In Singen?!

- Munich (2.12.1974)
- Frankfurt (4.12.1974)
- Hamburg (5.12.1974)
- Cologne (6.12.1974)
- and... "Singen beim Bodensee"...? (7.12.1974)
- The Hague/Holland (8.12.1974)

Quite surprising news...!

Hi Candyfloss, I don't understand deutsch, please can you tell me why Wikipedia let you think that Siegen was the right place ?

I have no idea, if Queen played in Singen (Queenconcerts) or in Siegen (Brooks); but I was surprised when I looked at the map: Siegen is located in North Rhine-Westphalia, whereas Singen (a much smaller town than Siegen) is located in the very south of Germany near the Swiss border (near Bodensee = Lake Constance).
On December 6th Queen played in Cologne - and the next day they went to a small town in the very south, although Queen had to play in Holland on December 8th? This is the only reason why I thought "it's hard to believe Queen played in Singen".

By the way, in this case "Bravo" is certainly a reliable source. I hope Hotspace will find the concert documentary.

Thanks, I think you're right, I have looked at the map too, and it seems improbable (in my opinion) that the band was in Singen, for the reasons you write here.
In fact, "Singen" is farther than "Siegen" from Cologne (previous show) and from The Hague (next show). So the tour "Cologne-Singen-The Hague" is improbable compared to the tour "Cologne-Siegen-The Hague"...

However, I don't forget that 90% of the lists mention "Singen", inevitably it makes me doubtful... I hope they're all wrong :smt077
