Bitte sachlich bleiben. Es ist schließlich ein 3Tagefestival. Weder KISS noch Faith No More als die Headliner der anderen Tage haben scheinbar genug Leute gelockt. Wie hier und andernorts die Schuld einzig und allein bei Adam Lambert gesucht wird ist einfach lächerlich.

Zur Absage eines ganzen Festivals müssen viele Gründe zusammen kommen. Welche das alle sind, werden wir wohl nicht erfahren, es war aber sicherlich nicht nur einer.

Deinem Post kann ich mich nur anschließen....Brian und Roger haben weder das Festival geplant, sondern war an 1 Abend Headliner.

Mal sehen, ob es einen Ersatztermin geben wird.

Lieber Brian, lieber Roger - bitte, bitte, lasst es doch sein.
Vielleicht war es so etwas wie göttliche Fügung, dass uns dieses Sonisphere-Festival erspart geblieben ist. Ich sehe keinen Sinn in dieser Collaboration. Das wird unseren beiden Herren sicherlich egal sein. Aber es gäbe so viele schöne Möglichkeiten, sich unter dem Bann "Queen" zu produzieren - als mit dem zigtausendsten Aufguss einer Karaoke-Show mit einem Künstler der C-Kategorie.

"94.7 WCSX - The Classic Rock Station" und "Billboard.com" veröffentlichen ein Interview von Roger Taylor mit "The Insider", in welchem er vier Live Shows von Queen + Adam Lambert für Sommer 2012 ankündigt. Das Konzert am 30.06.2012 in Moskau wird wie geplant über die Bühne gehen und eine Show wird mit Elton John in Kiew stattfinden. Anstelle des abgesagten Sonisphere Knebworth Konzerts spielen Queen + Adam Lambert zwei Shows Anfang Juli im Hammersmith Apollo in London. Weiters werden Brian May und Roger Taylor bei der Abschlußfeier der Olympischen Spiele am 12.08.2012 im Wembley Stadion in London spielen.


It looks like Queen will be busy with new frontman Adam Lambert this summer. Drummer Roger Taylor tells The Insider that he and guitarist Brian May are planning to play four shows with the former "American Idol" finalist -- a June 30 concert in Moscow, another with Elton John in Kiev and two early July shows at the Hammersmith Apollo in England. The latter is to provide "some alternative...for some of the people who had bought tickets" to a July 7 Sonishpere festival date in England that was canceled. "We're really excited about it," Taylor says. "Adam...of course he has this unbelievable range, like Freddie (Mercury) had range. Adam can really cover it. He's an extraordinary singer and a real talent. I feel he fits into our sort of theatricality." As for doing more with Lambert, Taylor says that "we're just going to see what happens, how well it goes, how we get on." Taylor and May first performed with Lambert during the 2009 "Idol" finals and then at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards. Taylor says he and May have also been approached to be part of the Summer Olympics closing ceremonies in London but adds that "I don't think we're meant to say too much about it yet." Taylor and May are currently busy getting the new tribute road show, "The Queen Extravaganza," ready for its May 26 opening in Quebec, including a two-night "introduction" of the cast on the April 25-26 episodes of "American Idol." The "Extravaganza" plays on May 31 at Detroit's Fox Theatre.

Der Gig mit Elton John (weiß der Teufel wie sowas mal so ebend zustande kommt und zwischen eine Konzertreihe mit Adam Lambert rutscht!) wird das Desaster nicht verhindern können.

Urlaub machen und John Deacon suchen. Irgendwo muss er ja stecken, der alte Teufelszupfer.
Das ist der einzige, der mich jetzt noch hinter'm Ofen hervorlocken kann um das ganze als eine Art Queen-Ding anzusehen. Obwohl das mit Elton schon interessanter klingt. Mal abwarten was als nächstes kommt

Jetzt sind es schon vier Konzerte. Mal Hand aufs Herz wer braucht das.....? Die Herren würden sich lieber mal darauf konzentrieren was noch an unveröffentlichtem Material exisitiert um dieses den Fans dann in einer angemessenen Form zur Verfügung zu stellen.
Ein gewisser Greg Brooks (soweit ich mich richtig erinnere) hat doch Material gesichtet und gesammelt. Ich hoffe das kommt mal raus bevor ich ein alter "Dattergreis" bin.

Queen with Adam Lambert – Despite Cancelled Sonisphere, UK Concerts To Go Ahead

Just two weeks after the shock cancellation of Sonisphere 2012 where they were due to headline with singer Adam Lambert, rock band Queen has announced they are to go ahead with a UK concert appearance this summer after all.

The band today announced that the highly anticipated pairing of Queen and Lambert will instead take place at London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo over two nights, July 11 and 12.

In the announcement the band also promised to endeavour to give priority booking to those who had held tickets for their Knebworth concert.

Tickets will go on sale next week, first to Queen fans and Sonisphere ticket holders and then on general sale.

Says a band spokesperson, “Queen acted immediately in looking for an alternative venue in an aim to avoid disappointing all those fans who had so desperately looked forward to seeing them at Knebworth. Coming in the lead into the Olympics, most of the venues they first approached were unavailable, being taken as official London Games 2012 venues. As the setting of some of the band’s best remembered concerts, the idea of returning to this historic Hammersmith venue really appealed to them.”

Said Brian May: "Somehow this feels right - The Odeon is a big part of our history, and its atmosphere is second to none. It's the perfect place to acknowledge our faithful fans, and will be a fitting return to our roots!"

Roger Taylor adds: "We had made up our minds to play in the UK this year, so play we will ! Following the collapse of the Sonisphere organisation we didn't want to let down all those people expecting to see us live!"

Speaking from the US, Adam Lambert said: “I’m so thrilled that Queen found a way to ensure that the fans will get to see this event this summer. I can’t wait to be in London to perform with Queen for these incredibly special shows!”

Originally known as the Hammersmith Odeon, the venue was the scene of four sold-out Queen concerts in late November/early December 1975, as well as a special Christmas Eve show; and the band returned for a triumphant end-of-tour show in December 1979, playing the opening night of a series of UNICEF concerts for the people of Kampuchea. Amongst fans, the Hammersmith shows continue to be regarded as some of Queen’s most exceptional. Broadcast live on national radio and TV, the Christmas show has become one of the most heavily bootlegged in the band's career, and an edited version of the show has been recently shown by the BBC. But a high quality official release DVD is now planned, unedited, which will include the audio of all of the songs which were not originally transmitted on TV.

Tickets for Queen + Adam Lambert concerts at HMV Hammersmith Apollo on Wednesday July 11 and Thursday July 12 will first be available on a 24-hour presale to Queen Online subscribers, Queen Fan Club members and Sonisphere ticket holders from 9am on Tuesday April 17. Pre-sale details will be sent on to these communities separately via e-mail.
