PRESS RELEASE: "DEFYING GRAVITY" G-A-Y MIX KERRY ELLIS
A STARTLING REMIX OF THE STANDOUT TRACK ON KERRY'S ALBUM "ANTHEMS" RELEASED ON DECCA RECORDS 20 MARCH

One of the most thrilling vocal talents on today's West End stage joined forces with founding member of Queen, Brian May, for the album "Anthems", for which May produced and wrote new material. The album charted Top 20 in its first week of release.

Now they take their highly successful collaboration a stage further with the release of a pounding club remix of "Defying Gravity" - the lead track from the musical, Wicked, and a standout song on Kerry's debut album.

The mix comes from the people behind the world's most high profile gay club, London's G-A-Y. In its 18 years, the club has hosted performances from some of the world's biggest artists, including Madonna, Kylie, Mariah Carey, Pink and Katy Perry. This is the first time they have turned their hands to remixing.
"We've been looking for the right artist and the right song," says club founder, Jeremy Joseph, "and ”Defying Gravity” is one of my all-time favourite songs, and when Kerry performed the track at G-A-Y and the crowd went ballistic, I knew this was the one."

Decca will donate a share of the proceeds from the sale of the single to the Mercury Phoenix Trust.*

The single comes as Kerry and Brian announce a 12-date national tour for this Spring, on the back of the phenomenal demand for their Royal Albert Hall shows in May.
